“Profits are the mother’s milk of stocks”
“Profits are the mother’s milk of stocks” is a Wall Street adage popularized by American business author, columnist, and television host Lawrence Kudlow. Kudlow has used the saying at least since his syndicated column on October 31, 2003:
“In simple language, when prices rise faster than costs, profits go up — and business profits are the mother’s milk for the stock market and future corporate production and hiring.”
