Poliwood (politics + Hollywood)

“Poliwood” or “poliwood” (politics + Hollywood) is an infrequently used term that is also the title of a 2009 documentary film about 2008’s presidential race. Film screenwriters Roger L. Simon and Lionel Chetwynd have an entertainment-themed political chat called Poliwood on the Internet on PJTV.

The term “Poliwood” has been cited in print since at least 1987 and 2004.

Promo materials for the New Frontier describe it as the “relaunch” of the late John F. Kennedy Jr.‘s magazine, George, but say it is “decidedly not a Kennedy-related magazine.”
