Pasture Pickles (jalapeño & cheese stuffed steak fingers)

“Pasture Pickles” is a term used at Cagle Steaks in Lubbock for jalapeño and cheese stuffed steak fingers. There are no pickles in “pasture pickles.” The name seems to be unique to Cagle Steaks, but several other restaurants also serve jalapeño and cheese stuffed steak fingers. The West Texas dish is also popular in Oklahoma.

One restaurant that I frequented served an item called pasture pickles. I just couldn’t force myself to eat them. My mind wouldn’t stop thinking of what pasture pickles might mean.
