Many people want to change the system, but many people also insist on using the system’s channels (such as petitioning elected officials) to change the system. In the case of petitioning elected officials, for example, those elected officials might be the problem. The system’s channels don’t permit the system to be changed.

The problem is that they have control of “the proper channels”... and they have no intention of letting go even if it means breaking rules… you can’t win a game when you have to follow rules but your opponents are allowed to cheat… it’s just taking us too long to realize that
