Libertarian: “Anything that requires labor is NOT a human right”
“Nothing that requires the labor of others is a basic human right.”
I saw this scrolling through Facebook today. One of my libertarian friends posted it. I assume it’s a knock on the idea that healthcare is a human right. All I could think about was: Well, if this is true according to your standards, nothing is a human right.
Even if he tried to say “the LIBERTY to PERSUE things like healthcare IS a human right,” I would consider that to also be a product of labor. The maintenance of liberty in his ideal society would require various kinds of labor.
Anything else to add?
