“Nobody ever asks for an adult bok choy”
Bok choy is popular as “baby bok choy.” There is no “adult bok choy,” but there are jokes.

Wikipedia: Bok choy
Bok choy (American English), pak choi (British English), pichay/petsay (Filipino), or pok choi (Brassica rapa subsp. chinensis) is a type of Chinese cabbage. Chinensis varieties do not form heads and have green leaf blades with lighter bulbous bottoms instead, forming a cluster reminiscent of mustard greens. Chinensis varieties are popular in southern China, East Asia, and Southeast Asia. Being winter-hardy, they are increasingly grown in Northern Europe.

Cooking tip! Baby bok choy is not as bitter as adult bok choy because it has hope inside it still.

Yes. The only difference is the size of the leaves. It’s not called “adult” bok choy. It’s just “bok choy.” Fascinating question. I can’t believe I never looked that up before.

I added an extra $10 to my grocery delivery tip because the person doing the shopping texted “Hey they’re all out of baby bok choy, but they have adult bok choy, you want them instead?”
