“News never sleeps”

“The news never sleeps” is an old saying in the news business. The October 25, 1905 Belleville (IL) News-Democrat had the slogan “It Prints the News,” with “Wide Awake” in the left corner of the masthead and “Never Sleeps” in the right corner.
 
The saying “news never sleeps” has been cited in print since at least 1962 and has become popular in the new media age of 24-hour news and information.
