“My wife made me join a bridge club—I jump off next Tuesday”
Self-deprecating comedian Rodney Dangerfield (1921-2004) supposedly got this put-down from his wife:
“My wife made me join a bridge club. I jump off next Tuesday.”
The joke has been cited in print since at least 1995 and has been included in many joke collections.
