“My freedom is more important than your good idea”

“My freedom is more important than your good idea” has been a bumper sticker saying since at least 2001. The saying means that government often has “good ideas” with its legislation and taxation, but the best ideas are individual freedom and liberty.

A similar saying is “My liberty is more important than your stupid idea.”

I saw a bumper sticker recently that sums it up pretty well: “My freedom is more important than your good idea”. The federal government has been funding too many “good” ideas.
