“My dad told me to invest my money in bonds, so I bought 100 copies of Goldfinger”
A bond (a financial instrument) has nothing to do with James Bond (a fictional British Secret Service agent), but there have been several jokes. UK comedian Nick Hall posted on Twitter on July 10, 2014:
“My dad told me to invest my money in bonds. So I’ve just bought 1000 copies of Goldfinger #gottaspendmoneytomakemoney.”
The copies of Goldfinger (a 1964 James Bond film) have varied to 100 or 200 in some versions of the joke.
