“Money can’t buy happiness, but poverty can’t buy anything”

A proverbial saying is that “money can’t buy happiness.” “Money can’t buy happiness, but poverty can’t buy anything” is a saying that has been printed on many images. “Money can’t buy you happiness, but poverty can’t buy you anything” has also been printed on many images.

“Money can’t buy happiness, but neither can poverty” is another form of the saying, frequently credited to American humorist Leo Rosten (1908-1997), that has also been printed on many images. “There is no greater crime than to waste an excess foolishly when others are in need for as Shaw said ‘money can’t buy happiness but then neither can poverty’” was printed in the San Antonio (TX) Express and News on July 24, 1960. “Mannie Manheim says money can’t buy happiness, but neither can poverty” was printed in the Citizen-News (Los Angeles, CA) on June 9, 1964. “Money can’t buy happiness but neither can poverty” was printed in the Doug Larson column in the Green Bay (WI) Press-Gazette on December 4, 1974. “Money can’t buy happiness, but neither can poverty. - Leo Rosten” was posted on the newsgroup dk.videnskab.jura on August 28, 2006. Up to $60,000 money and happiness correlate, but not over that point. So money can’t buy you happiness but poverty can buy you misery.
