Man Aisle (store aisle of products men shop for)
Westside Market NYC launched a “man aisle” in July 2012—an aisle filled with products that men frequently use, just like stores have baby aisles. Items in the “man aisle” include beer, chips, razors and condoms. One criticism is that the aisle was stocked with items intended for a “college student with really fast metabolism and tiny budget.”

Get ready to stock up your man cave!
An Upper West Side grocery store yesterday launched the city’s first “man aisle” — a portion of the store dedicated to facilitate a dude’s otherwise-arduous trip to the grocery store by putting everything in one convenient location — from condoms to steak sauce.
“It’s your essentials,” explained Ian Joskowitz, 43, chief operating officer of Westside Market NYC. “It’s your water, alcohol, soaps, shampoos, deodorants, razors.
“If you’re going to have some guys over to watch a game, you can pretty much stand here — not move two feet — and get your beer, barbecue sauce, chips, whatever. It’s all right here!”

Lest men get lost in the feminine hygiene section or the towering array of probiotic yogurts, a New York grocery store has created a testosterone haven: a so-called man aisle stocked with all the goods a dude could desire.

On Twitter, many rejoiced, calling the brocery idea “genius,” while others, mainly women, issued a “collective groan.”

The idea for the “Man Aisle” was inspired by a recent ESPN study suggesting that more men are doing the shopping for their families. “Guys don’t like taking lists when they go shopping,” the store’s CEO explains to the Post. “This helps them remember what they need.” Thanks CEO! Because there’s nothing more infuriating than getting the groceries home and realizing you forgot to buy all the garbage you need to conform to a worn out Madison Avenue stereotype of masculinity.

Some supposed “men” in the comment section on a couple different sites are all sensitive about the issue. They feel like their shopping abilities are being undermined. Maybe they need some tissue on their aisle.
Others feel the aisle is belittling their refined shopping sensibility—because they do their shopping at Whole Foods on the weekend.
But, truth be told, this end-cap (based on the photos it’s not really even a full aisle) really is “college student with really fast metabolism and tiny budget” aisle. Or perhaps “in a hurry because the kegger at my pad starts in 10 minutes and I haven’t showered in the three days” aisle.
