Mamdanistan (Zohran Mamdani + -stan)

Zohran Mamdani became, in 2026,  New York City’s first Muslim and first Asian American mayor. Some people dubbed New York City “Mamdanistan,” from “Mamdani” and “-stan” (a suffix used in many Asian place names like Afghanistan and Pakistan).

It’s “abad”, which means city/settlement. Like Ahmedabad/Hyderabad = city of Ahmed/Hyder.
The naming convention is “first name + abad”, so NYC should be Zohranabad.
