“Made with butter and love”

“Made with love and butter” (or “Made with love and a whole lot of butter”) is a saying that some bakeries have, and that has been printed on many images.
 
“You can tell at a glance that Santa’s cakes and cookies are made with butter and love” was printed in the Austin (MN) Herald on November 27, 1971. “COOKIES MADE WITH BUTTER and LOVE” (from Griswold’s) was printed in The Sun (San Bernardino, CA) on December 11, 1983. “‘Cookies are made of butter and love.’—Norwegian proverb” was printed in the Richmond (VA) TImes-Dispatch on December 6, 2000. “Christmas cookies are made with butter and love, just the way you’d do it if you had the time!” was printed in The Dunn County News (Menomonie, WI) on December 13, 2000.
 
“Holly B’s Bakery: I think they’re best described by the subtitle of the cookbook they sell: ‘made with love and butter’” was printed in the newsgroup sagedays17 on September 8, 2009. “Tiffany Butter Cookies made with pure LOVE and pure BUTTER” was posted on Facebook  by IFFCO on June 21, 2010. “Made with love and butter” (a slogan at Clinton Street Baking Company in New York City) was posted on Facebook by Lori Davis on March 26, 2012. “Made with love and REAL butter!” was posted on Facebook by La-di-da on March 14, 2016. “Made with love and pure butter” was posted on Instagram by mamapudditat on July 15, 2025.
