“Lord, give me coffee to change the things I can, and wine to accept the things I can’t”
“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference” is popularly known as the Serenity Prayer. A version involving coffee and wine (or whiskey) has been printed on many gift items, such as posters, T-shirts and coffee mugs:
“Lord, give me coffee to change the things I can, and wine to accept the things I can’t.”
“Give me the coffee to accept the things I cannot change, the coffee to change the things I can, and the coffee to know the difference” was cited on Twitter on April 15, 2013. “Lord give me coffee to change the things that I can change, and wine to accept the things that I can’t” was cited in a coffee blog post on June 2, 2013. It’s not known who originated the saying.
“Give me coffee to change the things I can, and the beach to accept the things I can’t” is a related saying.

The Serenity Prayer is the common name for a prayer authored by the American theologian Reinhold Niebuhr (1892–1971). It has been adopted by Alcoholics Anonymous and other twelve-step programs. The best-known form is:
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.

THAT IS WHAT YOU MIGHT CALL A SUBTLE CHANGE FROM THE ORIGINAL SERENITY POEM:
God, grant me the courage to change the things I can,
The serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
And wisdom to know the difference.
