“Lightning may not strike twice, but tornadoes do”

“Lightning never strikes twice in the same place” is an old proverb. “Lightning may never strike twice in the same place, but tornadoes do” is an extension of the proverb that was cited in print in 1953. “Lightning doesn’t strike twice but tornadoes don’t hold anything sacred” was cited in 2015.

They say lightning never strikes twice but tornadoes seem to have a habit of coming back to one street in Bognor Regis.
 
Eleven years after the seaside town was struck by a freak mini tornado the exact same area of West Sussex was hit again by a twister.
