Popeye the Sailor Man (a cartoon character) loves spinach. Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen fast food restaurants specialize in fried chicken, but not spinach.

Popeye the Sailor Man is a cartoon character created by Elzie Crisler Segar, first appearing on January 17, 1929, in the daily King Features comic strip Thimble Theatre. It was Fleischer Studios’s cartoon series that made Popeye eat a can of spinach whenever he needed to increase his strength to superhuman levels.
