Kentucky Nachos

“Kentucky nachos” is a variation of nachos. Like potachos, “Kentucky nachos” replaces tortillas chips with potato chips. Barbecued pulled pork is a featured ingredient, and blue cheese, coleslaw, cheddar cheese, sauteed onions and peppers are other ingredients.

The origin of the food is unknown, but it was served at Churchill Downs for the 2006 Kentucky Derby. Kentucky Nachos was popularized in June 2009 on the website This is why you’re fat.

Most things made at Churchill Downs this weekend have been grown or raised in Kentucky.

Logan has worked the last several years to give the food at Churchill a distinctly Kentucky flavor. In the food court, the ice cream stand has bourbon pecans, the Mexican grill has Kentucky nachos with pork and there’s even an 8-ounce Derby dog loaded with relish, peppers, onions and cheese.
