“Isn’t it amazing how efficient the government becomes when the project is mass surveillance?”

“Isn’t it amazing how efficient the government becomes when the project is mass surveillance?” was posted on X/Twitter and Facebook by Young Americans for Liberty on August 14, 2026. The saying means that when the government wants to do something— such as surveillance of the population—it suddenly can get things done and become amazingly efficient. When the people (taxpayers/voters) want something done, however, this is seldom the case.
