“2% milk” refers to the fat content of the milk, but there’s a popular joke.
   
“Imagine if one day we unlock the other 98% of milk” was posted on X/Twitter by Carson on June 1, 2019, and this received over 99,000 likes. “What do you think would happen if we unlocked the other 98% of milk?” (shown on an image) was posted on Facebook by All You Can Eat on June 1, 2025.
 
“I’m drinking 2% milk, wondering what the other 98% is” and “My milk is about to die. It’s at 2%” are related sayings.
