“If you eat too much prison chili, you might lose your right to remain silent”

Many prisons serve chili. Some prison chili is quite good, such as the famous Dallas County Jail Chili (Texas Prison Chili). On the American comedy television program Most Extreme Elimination Challenge (MXC), the episode “Cops vs. Cons” that originally aired on April 27, 2003, Vic Romano (voiced by actor Vic Wilson) said:

“You know, Ken, you eat too much prison chili, you might give up your right to remain silent.”

The joke is that the beans in the chili make you fart. (Texas Prison Chili has no beans, however.) The “right to remain silent” refers to an accused person’s Miranda warning.

Wikipedia: Most Extreme Elimination Challenge
Most Extreme Elimination Challenge (MXC) is an American comedy television program that aired on Spike TV from 2003 to 2007. It is a re-purpose of footage from the Japanese game show Takeshi’s Castle which originally aired in Japan from 1986 to 1990. The re-purposed “MXC” created a completely new premise, storyline and characters. The MXC re-purpose created two teams competing against each other à la a typical Saturday afternoon network football game broadcast, with players trying to win points for their teams by surviving through different challenges.
