“If money can fix a problem, then it really isn’t a problem”
Money can’t solve everything, according to at least this one proverb: “If money can fix/solve a problem, then it really isn’t a problem.”
The issues of health and of family relationships sometimes go beyond the possession of amounts of money. This saying is cited in print since at least the mid-1990s, although the underlying principle seems timeless.

A great way to view it I heard a number of years ago. If money can solve it, it’s not a problem. In other words, if you loose a loved one, or a leg, or an eye, or get thrown in jail, or some such thing happens, then you have a problem.

We didn’t have a lot of money when I was growing up.
So it seemed strange to me that my father would always say, “If money can fix it, don’t worry about it.”
Eventually I came to understand what he meant.
He meant that life’s most seriouws losses aren’t about things. Clothes, jewelry, cars and houses can be replaced or rebuilt.
As a clergyman, Dad had faced, with countless of his parishioners, those somber losses which no amount of money could replace.
Dad knew people who would have given all they owned to have good health restored. To have broken relationships repaired. To have disastrous decisions reversed.
That’s why, even though we didn’t have much money, Dad could advise us children: If money can fix it, don’t worry about it.

$232.00 is dealable….If money can fix it, then it is not as big as some other problems (ever notice that the people who say this kind of thing always seem to have money? But it’s true nonetheless).

I keep telling myself, if money can solve it, it’s not really a problem, just a pain in the ass…
