The saying is anti-nanny state and anti-big government. Many people just want to be left alone, free of government regulations. For example, they might want home schooling, or they might be against mandatory vaccinations. The meme supports individual freedom. The yellow color on the meme indicates libertarianism or voluntaryism.
 
“The new American dream is to be left the hell alone” and “The ones asking to be left alone aren’t the extremists. The ones demanding we comply or lose all of our rights are the extremists” are related sayings.
