While I chortled at Meg’s eight rules for signings—Dom Perignon for the author, vigorous milling about so as to create an impression of large attendance, soft cushions etc. etc.—I’m a bit confused. Don’t mystery fans everywhere do this??? If Meg could see her way clear to visiting us here in the Great Lakes region for a signing (hint, hint), I’m sure she’d find that these rules are standard operating procedure for ALL mystery author signings here. Authors are wined and dined here. Or at least beered and cheered.

@benparr, not sure whether my impressions of @adamostrow allow that he should be wined and dined vs. beered and cheered. But hot dates easy.

y’know how “wine and dine” is a thing? I think if you do that kind of thing at a sports game it should be called a “beer and cheer”
