"I used to think I was indecisive, but now I’m not…

“I used to think I was indecisive, but now I’m not so sure” (or “I used to be indecisive, but now I’m not so sure”) is a saying that has been printed on many images. The saying became popular in the 1970s, but authorship is unknown.

The book Mark My Words: Great Quotations and the Stories Behind Them (1997, 2002) by Nigel Rees suggests that the saying was inspired by a line in the play The Philanthropist (1970) by Christopher Hampton.
