“I say please and thank you Siri, that way when machines take over the world she will spare me”

Some people say “please” and “thank you” even to a virtual assistant such as Siri or Amazon Alexa. The reason?

I always thank my Amazon Alexa after she does something for me because I hope she’ll remember it when the machines take over.
I know it sounds like an terrible joke and maybe the reason why I do it is kinda an joke but I always thank my Alexa. “Alexa, please start Netflix, thank you” would be an normal sentence. I know that they don’t have feelings but it feels good treating them with respect. Lockdown hittin hard
