“I saw an ad that said, ‘TV for sale-Volume Stuck on Full.’ I couldn’t turn that down”

A television joke is:

“I was walking down the road the other day and I saw this advert in the window that said. ‘Television For Sale—Pounds 1—Volume Stuck On Full.’ I thought: ‘I can’t turn that down.’”

The joke has been cited in print since at least 2003 and has been credited to English writer and comedian Tim Vine.

I saw a bargain the other day, a TV set for $1. Only problem was the volume control which was stuck on full. Come on, how can you turn that down?
