“I like my women like I like my coffee. Sent back for not being hot enough”
“I like my women like I like my coffee” is a meme that has been used on many images. “A Negro comedian pulled this one: ‘I like my coffee strong and black—the same way I like my women’” was cited in the New York (NY) Amsterdam News in July 1944. “Hot..and black, too” was an answer in 1973. “Hot and sweet” was cited in 1974. “Hot, sweet and black” was cited in 1994.
A joke variation uses a pun on “hot” (also meaning “sexually attractive”). “Sxsw comedy ‘I like my women like I my coffee. Sent back for not being hot enough’ LOLz” was posted on Twitter by Cristin Culver on March 13, 2011. “I like my women like I like my coffee… sent back for not being hot enough. #ThingsHeardInTheGKL0unge” was posted on Twitter by Alex Hurst on March 13, 2012. “‘I like my women like i like my coffee: sent back for not being hot enough’ #sxsw” was posted on Twitter by “potato” on March 16, 2012. “‘I like my women like i like my coffee….sent back for not being hot enough’ - @benkronberg lmao” was posted on Twitter by Technoking P on July 20, 2020.
The joke probably originated with Ben Kronberg and was popularized at SXSW Comedy in Austin, Texas.
