“i 8 sum Pi…and it was delicious” (math joke)

“√(-1) 2³ ∑π” (“i 8 sum Pi” or “I ate some pie”)—often followed with “and it was delicious”— is a math joke that has been printed on T-shirts. “√(-1) 2³ ∑π ” was cited on Twitter on June 19, 2009.
 
”√-1 2³ ∑ π ..and it was delicious” was cited on Twitter on June 15, 2012. The joke appeared on the “Mathlete’s Feat” episode of the animated television series The Simpsons on May 17, 2015.
