“Hey, what are you doing in the supermarket?” (joke)

A supermarket shopping joke has been printed on many images:

“I hate when people see me at the super market and are like. ‘Hey, what are you doing here?’ I’m like, ‘Oh you know, hunting elephants.’”

The joke is that it’s a stupid question—people at the supermarket are shopping. “Hunting elephants” is a sarcastic answer. The “What are you doing here?” remark is really about a person who is surprised to see the other person (such as a co-worker, a doctor or a teacher) in a different setting.

The “hunting elephants” joke was posted on Twitter on July 29, 2011.

This is my kind of sarcasm, enjoy: I hate it when people see me at the supermarket and they are like: “Hey, what are you doing here?” And I’m just like: “Oh, you know, hunting elephants!” Have a great week.
