“Greek yogurt is just regular yogurt that joined a frat”

I wasn’t in a fraternity” was posted on Twitter by Jonathan Howe on August 3, 2012. “Does eating Greek yogurt count as being in a fraternity” was posted on Twitter by matt on March 30, 2013.
”@jimmyfallon just said ‘Greek yogurt is just regular yogurt that joined a frat’ & i can’t stop laughing” was posted on Twitter by hannah palmer on February 22, 2017. The joke was told on television’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
“Greek yogurt is just sour cream that’s joined a sorority” was posted on Twitter by Ally on December 16, 2017. “Greek yogurt is just sour cream that joined a fraternity” was posted on Twitter by Daniel Robinson on January 23, 2020. “Greek yogurt is really just sour cream” is a related saying.
Wikipedia: Strained yogurt
Strained yogurt, Greek yogurt, yogurt cheese, sack yoghurt, or kerned yogurt is yogurt that has been strained to remove most of its whey, resulting in a thicker consistency than unstrained yogurt, while preserving yogurt’s distinctive sour taste. Like many types of yogurt, strained yogurt is often made from milk that has been enriched by boiling off some of its water content, or by adding extra butterfat and powdered milk. In Europe and North America, it is often made from low-fat or fat-free milk. In Iceland, a similar product named skyr is made.
Strained yogurt is generally marketed in North America as “Greek yogurt” and in Britain as “Greek-style yoghurt”, though strained yogurt is also widely eaten in Levantine, Eastern Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Central Asian and South Asian cuisines, wherein it is often used in cooking (as it is high enough in fat content to avoid curdling at higher temperatures).

Sale of Greek yogurt is to be prohibited to all students who are not in a fraternity or sorority. Doing so would be cultural appropriation.

What UR paying $50k/yr for: A fraternity was told it was ‘appropriating culture.’ Administrators won’t say which. http://wapo.st/2q2oaeP
