“Friendly as a Texas smile”
“Friendly as a Texas smile” is mentioned in the Cool Slang website, but the saying isn’t very old. “Friendship” has been the official Texas state motto since 1930. “Friendly as a Texas Smile” has been cited in print since only about 2008.
Other Texas “friendly” expressions include “Texas friendly spoken here,” “Friendly City” (Amarillo nickname) and “Friendly City” (Austin nickname).
The Handbook of Texas Online
STATE MOTTO. The word Friendship was adopted as the Texas state motto by the Forty-first Texas Legislature in February 1930. The word was probably chosen because the name Texas or Tejas was the Spanish pronunciation of a Caddo Indian word sometimes translated to mean “friends” or “allies.”

Friendly as a Texas Smile
This should be self explantory, but on my last trip home to Texas I found less people smiling. Everyone seems to busy to smile or show simple courtesy anymore.

The first thing I felt when I entered the Blue Smoke and smelt the aromas that permeated from the kitchen was .. how much I would enjoy drinking a beer with my meal
