“Feed a pigeon, breed a rat”

Some people feed pigeons in New York City, and rats eat the same food. “Feed a pigeon, breed a rat” was a poster made by New York City’s Health Department.

Rats also love garbage, pigeon food and animal feces. So Pascone cautions homeowners to clean up after their dogs, especially if they’re let out in the yard, and to tightly seal garbage and birdfeed.
