Fedbug (federal government + bug/bedbug)
“Fedcoats, Fedbugs, Fedbloats, and Usuperistas” was a post by Becky Akers on The LewRockwell.com Blog on January 23. 2013. Akers was looking for a “term to describe all federal oppressors with derision, scorn and malice” and wrote:
“Nick Morana proposed Fedbugs: ‘More than a nuisance, difficult to get rid of, they creep into every fabric of the economy.’ Hey, why limit it to the economy? They certainly don’t. ‘Extermination is the only solution.’”
The term “fedbug” (federal + bug/bedbug) had been used before. In 1995 and 2010, “fedbugs” referred to the federal government’s electronic “bugging” (surveillance) of private citizens. “Fedbug” (federal + bedbug) was also used by Warren Tilson in The Libertarian Enterprise on March 6. 2011.

Fedbugs interrupting patriot faxes?

A number of activists, including myself, who make a great deal of use of faxing to spread the word, especially about militia matters, have noted that many of our fax transmissions are being interrupted by the loss of the carrier on the phone line.

“Fedbugs!”

In the past they were referred to as redcoats but these days we’ll just call them Fedbugs.
This term popped into my head one day recently and I thought it would make a great meme. So if you like it please use it and spread it around.
Think about the parallels of the two creatures. The mostly ineffective means of keeping them at bay, the pain they sow upon innocent people and the destruction of wealth that results. One of the few differences is that bedbugs don’t pretend to be helping you out. In that sense they are the more honest infestation. And, yes, according to Wikipedia they were once called redcoats. How perfect.

News of a bedbug infestation at the Anthony J. Celebrezze Federal Building last week simply confirms what we already know: Government workers spend way too much time sleeping on the job.

You’ll recall our search for a “term…to describe all federal oppressors with derision, scorn and malice.” Here are several suggestions:
Nick Morana proposed Fedbugs: “More than a nuisance, difficult to get rid of, they creep into every fabric of the economy.” Hey, why limit it to the economy? They certainly don’t. “Extermination is the only solution.” Heh heh – but let’s be clear that we’re exterminating offices and paychecks, not the leeches loafing in one while robbing us for the other. When the Second Revolution comes, we hope to abolish government rather than the people who populate it. Revolutions that descend into bloodbaths don’t kill just politicians and bureaucrats: they destroy citizens and liberty, too.
