“FDA approved does NOT mean scientifically proven. It means business deal made”
“FDA approved does NOT mean scientifically proven. It means business deal made” (shown on an image) was posted on Facebook by Marcos Colome on September 6, 2021, and this received over 7,900 shares (although it was labeled as “false information”). The United States Food and Drug Administration supervises food and also drugs and vaccines, and the saying became popular duing the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.
A Reuters fact check on September 14, 2021 called this a false claim. However, many people believe that the FDA is run like a business, and that the health and safety of Americans is not the agency’s top priority.
Wikipedia: Food and Drug Administration
The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA or US FDA) is a federal agency of the Department of Health and Human Services. The FDA is responsible for protecting and promoting public health through the control and supervision of food safety, tobacco products, caffeine products, dietary supplements, prescription and over-the-counter pharmaceutical drugs (medications), vaccines, biopharmaceuticals, blood transfusions, medical devices, electromagnetic radiation emitting devices (ERED), cosmetics, animal foods & feed and veterinary products.

FDA approved doesn’t mean scientifically proven. It means a business deal was made and 97% of scientists agree with whoever is funding them.
