FCINO (Fiscal Conservative In Name Only)
FCINO (Fiscal Conservative In Name Only) is a spinoff term from the earlier RINO (Republican In Name Only). “RINO” is cited in print from 1992; “FCINO” was cited once in print in October 2008.
“FCINO (Fiscal Conservative In Name Only)” was popularized in a February 2010 political ad by Carly Fiorina, running in the California Republican primary for a seat in the United States Senate. The ad—popular on YouTube—accused Fiorina’s opponent, Tom Campbell, of being an FCINO.
There is no standard way to say “FCINO.” Some simply spell out the letters, while others might say “eff-SEE-noh” or “eff-CHEE-noh” (like the Italian word “cappuccino”).
Wikipedia: Carly Fiorina
Carleton S. “Carly” Fiorina (born Cara Carleton Sneed; September 6, 1954) is an American businesswoman. Fiorina served as chief executive officer of Hewlett-Packard from 1999 to 2005 and previously was an executive vice president at AT&T, where she coordinated the spinoff and initial public offering of Lucent.
Fiorina was considered one of the most powerful women in business during her tenure at Lucent and Hewlett-Packard. The spinoff of Agilent Technologies – which had been initiated by her predecessor, Lew Platt – was completed shortly after she joined the company in 1999. Under her leadership, in 2002, the company completed a contentious merger with rival computer company Compaq. In 2005, the Hewlett-Packard board forced Fiorina to resign.
In 2008, Fiorina served as a top economic advisor to Republican presidential candidate John McCain. She currently serves on the boards of several major business organizations. In November 2009, Fiorina announced she would seek the Republican nomination to challenge incumbent Democrat Barbara Boxer for the junior United States Senate seat representing California.

hey R1,
I know what you mean about not wanting to defend some of the things “your”/“my” side says. I wish more people would stand up and say, “this republican/democrat/liberal/conservative doesn’t speak for me and my kind of republicanism/democraticism(?), etc.”
On that note, I’ll be honest, I don’t think McCain is going to win, but I think losing might be better for the conservative movement simply because I think people on the right culturally shouldn’t have to vote for someone who is a RINO just because he’s the only option/people on the right fiscally shouldn’t have to vote for someone evangelical (i.e. Fiscal Conservative in Name Only—FiCNO?) just because he’s the only option.

FCINO: Fiscal Conservative In Name Only (YouTube ad)

Description: Carly for California released FCINO, exposing Tom Campbell as a Fiscal Conservative In Name Only. Since his flip-flop into the Senate race, Campbell has been calling himself a fiscal conservative based on his time as a member of Congress nearly two decades ago, hoping that voters will ignore his recent support for more government spending, increased borrowing, a $16 billion tax hike and a 32-cent gas tax increase.

But Really, How Do You Say “FCINO”?
by Tammy on February 4, 2010
Does FCINO (Fiscal Conservative in Name Only) rhyme with Pacino? Or is it more like Fukeeno? But that would just be wrong.
If Carly Fiorina’s new campaign ad for her California senate run is serious this is the worst campaign ad ever. If it’s supposed to be funny, it’s genius. I will leave it to you and your herding dog. Sydney, of course, loves it. And just like us she wants to put all those sheep in their place.

I really don’t even know where to begin with this one. It’s so long that I found myself trying to skip ahead faster than YouTube could load. It was so dramatic that you would have thought it was a low-budget independent horror movie. Fiorina’s acronym, Fiscal Conservative In Name Only (FCINO) can’t even be pronounced.

Initialism for “Fiscal Conservative in Name Only,” applied to Senatorial candidate Tom Campbell (R-CA).

We’ve heard of the terms RINO (Republican in name only) and DINO (Democrat in name only). But California Republican senate candidate Carly Fiorina has coined a new term to describe [Tom Campbell] her GOP primary opponent: FCINO, or Fiscal Conservative in Name Only.
