“Ever since I started a routine of jogging at midnight I have been running late”

The term “running late” means to be behind schedule. It doesn’t mean to be actually running (jogging) at a late hour, but there are jokes.
 
“Running late, like I’m jogging at midnight” was posted on Twitter by BLACK JEW on April 13, 2012. “Sorry but ever since I started a routine of jogging at midnight I have been running late” was posted on Reddit—Oneliners on January 6, 2020.
