Wikipedia: Eggnog
Eggnog (/ˈɛɡˌnɒɡ/ ), historically also known as a milk punch or an egg milk punch when alcoholic beverages are added, is a rich, chilled, sweetened, dairy-based beverage traditionally made with milk, cream, sugar, egg yolk and whipped egg white (which gives it a frothy texture, and its name). A distilled spirit such as brandy, rum, whiskey or bourbon is often a key ingredient.

I have lived in Canada for over 13 years and still giggle like a pre-teen whenever I see eggnog for sale here because in French, eggnog translates to “chicken milk” (lait de poulet)

for those wondering why its called that, its a cultural in-joke. canadian products are labelled in french and english. in french egg nog is called “lait de poule” which means “milk of chicken” so sometimes we call egg nog “chicken milk” as a bit
