Dolphins (College of Staten Island teams)

The College of Staten Island calls its athletic teams the "Dolphins." No one knows why.

And, during the nine games that make up the City University of New York championship tournament, the Dolphins of Staten Island will learn if they can add the tournament title to their regular-season league crown.

The Dolphins, who have a 13-1 record going into tonight's game at Queens College, were not about to wait for the envelope this week.
