Crap Metro (Cap Metro nickname)

The Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority (“Cap Metro”) has served Austin (the capital of Texas) since 1986. By at least 2000, “Cap Metro” has been derided as ‘Crap Metro.”

Green party!!!!  No way!!!!  If they had their way, we would have $3 gas with a $7 tax on top of that, so that we would have to give up our cars and all ride Crap Metro.

I live in Austin, TX.  At the 2000 election, voters voted down light rail.  Personally, I like the idea, but I voted against the proposal, since I did not trust Cap Metro (CRAP Metro) to do it right.

You could be from Austin, Texas.  Are you sure that you have never ridden our Cap Metro System (a.k.a. Crap Metro. . . )?

Austin voters approved a light rail line from Cedar Park to downtown Austin, but Crap Metro is in charge, so I expect it will be as overbudget, underutilized and unreliable as everything else Crap Metro “manages”.

Who’s riding the light rail?

If it went to Round Rock instead of Leander, it might be somewhat useful, as I have friends who live up there, and have seen some decent jobs posted up there.  As it stands now, though, it’s completely useless.

I was looking into any existing or plans for an express bus to Round Rock (we have one that goes to Leander), and found a PDF from 2008 outlining just such a plan.  It clearly has not been implemented yet, and there next rail project is supposed to shoot out east.  Not to mention the parts of Austin itself that Crap Metro still doesn’t go to, like most of 360, Bee Cave, etc.

Look, Keith, I lived in Dallas for eight years. What they have there is light rail. What Crap Metro has is not, it’s not even close. Period, end of story.
