“The Cowboy Capital of the World”

26 October 1955, Kerrville (TX) Times, pg. 1, col. 2:
Colorful Bandera and its thriving dude ranch industry rates another splash of national publicity in the November issue of American Magazine that will be on sale at news stands Thursday.

In a first-person article by Leonard Falkner, replete with color photos, the writer takes the reader on a tour of the ranches that circle the “Cowboy Capital of the World,” including word pictures of life at the Dixie Dude, Lost Valley, Flying L., The Maven, Peaceful Valley, Bennie’s U-Bar, Joleta, Twin Elms and Wagon Wheel.

10 October 1971, Los Angeles Times, “Cowboy Capital of World” by Eunice T. Juckett, pg. I2:
It even calls itself the Cowboy Capital of the World—and with justification. The Bandera concentration includes a dozen ranches catering to guests (accommodating around 600 at prices that range upwards from $100 a week) and a whole coterie of honest-to-goodness working ranches, some of which also take guests.
