Country Club Precinct (Police Precincts #100 and #112 in Queens)
A “country club precinct” is a police precinct that has very little crime—policing it is like relaxing at a country club. Both the 100th Precinct in Queens (Rockaway Peninsula and the Gateway National Recreational Park) and the 112th Precinct in Queens (Forest Hills and Rego Park) have been called a “country club precinct.”

Q: is the neighborhood safe?
A: I know we have probably one of the lowest crime rates. I believe the police refer to it as the “country club precinct.”

Another area where Forest Hills kills the rest of the city is crime. I hear these gentrifying Upper Manhattan areas still have their problems with it. One of my very favorite things about this neighborhood is that it has one of the lowest crime rates in the entire city—so low, in fact, that the precinct registered the biggest drop in crime in Queens last year despite already having one of the lowest crime rates (don’t quote me, but I think second only to the Nassauish Douglaston/Little Neck area). I’ve heard the cops refer to the 112th as the “country club precinct.” Also something to consider with kids—I know, for one thing, that my parents left Manhattan shortly after I was born largely to avoid the scary ‘70s crime problems.

Somebody should protest outside the 112th precinct. They are quite incompetent.

I agree, Bill F! As I’ve said before, there’s a reason they call it the “country club precinct”...
I have called over there and it was like a race to get me off the phone!

I am so sorry that happened to you. I would be scared too. So glad you had your cell phone.
There’s a reason they call the Forest Hills cops the country club precinct. Because they act like they’re at a country club.

The 100th, which Castellano calls the “country club precinct,” has had five murders this year, in contrast to none last year.
