“Count your rainbows, not your thunderstorms”

“Count your rainbows, not your thunderstorms”—in other words, “count your blessings”—is a saying that has been printed on many images. The saying has been cited in print since at least 2006 and is of unknown authorship.

“Count your rainbows, not your thunderstorms. ~Alyssa Knight (age 12)” was posted on Twitter on August 3, 2010. However, Alyssa Knight does not appear to be credited with the saying before 2010.
