CityHawks, Dragons (arena football teams)
The CityHawks played in Madison Square Garden and briefly (1997-1998) represented New York City in arena football.
The New York Dragons (2000-present) currently represent "New York" in arena football, but they play in the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island.

DAVE CHECKETTS, president of the Garden, announced yesterday that the Garden would own the New York CityHawks, the 14th franchise in the league, which plays indoor football on a 50-yard field with eight players apiece on offense and defense.

After two losing seasons and poor attendance at Madison Square Garden, the New York CityHawks of the Arena Football League are moving to Hartford.

The owners of the Islanders are buying the Iowa Barnstormers of the Arena Football League for $7 million. The team will be brought to Long Island and renamed the Dragons.
