Chiletoque

“Chiletoque” appears in a 1952 article about the Original Mexican Restaurant (since 1899 or 1900) of San Antonio, listed as one of the “specialties served only at the Original Restaurant.”  Perhaps chiletoque is similar to fritoque (another Original specialty, made with Fritos).

The ingredients of chiletoque are unknown, but it probably was a version of chile con carne. The dish does not appear on an Original Mexican Restaurant menu from 1943. Chiletoque is not served today.
