Can’t Find The Crooks (CFTC backronymic nickname)
The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has a mission to protect market users and the public from fraud, manipulation, and abusive practices related to the sale of commodity and financial futures and options. However, many critics believe that the CFTC is toothless and that it fails to go after white collar crime.
CFTC nicknames (“backronyms” or back acronyms from the initials) include:
. Can’t Find The Cause (May 2010 and December 2010),
. Commission to Fuck The Citizen (February 2011),
. Can’t Find The Criminals (December 2011),
. Come Fuck The Consumer (December 2011),
. Can’t Fuck The Comex (May 2012),
. Can’t Find The Crooks (June 2012),
. Can’t Find The Crime (July 2012),
. Can’t Find The Culprit (September 2013),
. Connivers Figuring To Cheat (September 2013) and
. Can’t Find The Corruption (September 2013).
Wikipedia: Commodity Futures Trading Commission
The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is an independent agency of the United States government that regulates futures and option markets. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission Act of 1974 (P.L. 93-463) created the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, to replace the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Commodity Exchange Authority, as the independent federal agency responsible for regulating the futures trading industry. The Act made extensive changes in the basic authority of Commodity Exchange Act of 1936, which itself had made extensive changes in the original Grain Futures Act of 1923. (7 U.S.C. 1 et seq.).
The Commodity Exchange Act (CEA), 7 U.S.C. § 1 et seq., prohibits fraudulent conduct in the trading of futures contracts. The stated mission of the CFTC is to protect market users and the public from fraud, manipulation, and abusive practices related to the sale of commodity and financial futures and options, and to foster open, competitive, and financially sound futures and option markets.

In the aftermath of the MF Global fiasco, popular anger has understandable been focused on the complete lack of any response (let alone prevention) by regulators, in this case by Goldman’s Gary Gensler, currently head of the CFTC, who quite comically had to recuse himself from an MF Global investigation due to his previous ties to Jon Corzine.

Here’s another cynical way of looking at it. Maybe, the CFTC (acronym: Can’t Find The Crooks) wanted to send a message on behalf of the big, bullion/investment-bank, financial predators & scare any other little fish away….cause the silver paper-ponzi is only meant for the big, wallstreet-bankstering sharks to feed on, lol.

GUEST POST: CFTC – Connivers Figuring to Cheat
Filed in Precious Metals by SRSrocco on September 28, 2013
By Charles Savoie: New $100 bills are coming in early October 2013! Even though these can be created to infinity and cost little effort and resources to produce, we are demanded by authorities to accept these as worth several times more than an ounce of geologically depleted, essential silver! But should we use these new bills, when we can use a debit card?
