"Can't believe we ain't got world peace…

“Can’t believe we don’t have world peace after changing the name on pancake boxes and syrup bottles” is a saying that has been printed on many images. The saying refers to the “politically correct” brand changes of Aunt Jemima pancake and syrup to Pearl Milling Company in June 2021, among other brand changes in the food industry.

“I thought the plan was to change the name on the pancake box and then there was going to be world peace!!” was posted on Facebook by John Wells on April 19, 2021. “Still can’t believe after after changing the cover of pancake boxes we don’t have world peace” was posted on Facebook by Matt Tyszka on July 21, 2021. “I can’t believe after changing the name on a pancake box - we haven’t obtained world peace yet” was posted on X/Twitter by Catturd ™ on October 11, 2021, and this received over 34,000 likes.

“Can’t believe we ain’t got world peace after changing the picture on a pancake box & syrup bottle…😜” was posted on Facebook by Jeff Guest on November 1, 2021, and this received over 85,000 shares. “Can’t believe we don’t have world peace after changing the name on pancake boxes and syrup bottles” was posted on X/Twitter by The Big Cheese on November 17, 2021.

“How can we have world peace when we can’t even have Coke and Pepsi in the same restaurant?” is another “world peace” saying.

Pearl Milling Company is a North American brand for pancake mix, table syrup, and other breakfast food products. The original version of the pancake mix was developed in 1888–1889, and was advertised as the first “ready-mix” cooking product.

In June 2021, the Aunt Jemima brand name was discontinued by its current owner, PepsiCo, with all products rebranded to Pearl Milling Company, the name of the company that produced the original pancake mix product.
