“Candy is dandy, but wine is divine”

“Candy is dandy, but wine is divine” is a wine saying that has been printed on many images. “Candy is dandy, but liquor is quicker” (published in The New Yorker on 1930) is a famous poem from Ogden Nash (1902-1971). “Wine is divine” has been cited in print since at least 1874.
   
“Candy is Dandy, but Wine is Divine” was printed in the Austin (TX) American-Statesman on February 10, 1995.
