Broadway Diner (on Lexington Avenue)
Quick, where is the Broadway Diner located? Lexington Avenue, of course.
It began in the 1980s and used to be located at Broadway and West 55th Street - just a block away from "Big Apple Corner." A second "Broadway Diner" soon opened on Lexington Avenue an East 52nd Street.
About 1998, the Broadway Diner on Broadway went out of business. It is now another Serafina (Italian) restaurant. Which leaves only one Broadway Diner...on Lexington Avenue.
In a city where Madison Square Garden is not at Madison Square, and Manhattan College is in the Bronx, and an egg cream has neither egg nor cream, you can add another misnomer in the Broadway Diner.
