Broadway (Coca-Cola with vanilla ice cream)

According to Mimi Sheraton, a "Broadway" was Coca-Cola with vanilla ice cream. "Coke float" is the popular term. See also the "Broadway soda" entry in this section.

7 August 1982, New York Times, "When Fun Was Your Very Own Ice Cream Soda" by Mimi Sheraton, pg. 8:
Coca-Cola with vanilla ice cream was the drink we called a Broadway, although soda jerks (now called fountain attendants) at Rumpelmayer's say that drink is a Coke float. A Broadway at Rumpelmayer's is a combination of chocolate and coffee syrups, with coffee ice cream as the final touch.
